Chemical peels are used to brighten and tighten tired skin through an even, controlled shedding of old or damaged skin cells. By removing the outer layer of skin, fresh cells develop, resulting in decreased pore size, reduced visibility of acne scars, and fresh and healthy looking skin. There are many types of Chemical Peels, let our Edmonton Lipstick Empire Staff find the right peel for your skin type.

What is a Chemical peel?
Chemical peels use a chemical and/or enzyme solution to remove the outer layer of skin, thereby promoting the development of fresh skin cells. Peels are available in varying strengths, with more aggressive types penetrating deeper into the skin to treat more severe skin demarcations and pigmentation issues. Once old and dead skin cells are removed, the skin appears brighter, more youthful, and will absorb topical products more effectively.
What does a Chemical Peel feel like?
Lipstick Empire’s Chemical Peels are virtually painless, though clients may experience a mild tingling or stinging sensation while the solution is on the skin.
How many Chemical Peel treatments will I need?
We generally recommend 3 treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart, with maintenance treatments every 1-3 months for optimal long-term results.
When will I see results?
The effects of the peel will be instantaneous. Following a chemical peel you will notice improvements in brightness and tightness right away, however, as new cells regenerate, the appearance of the skin will continue to improve for the next 2 weeks. We consider our chemical peels “lunchtime” peels because you should be able to resume your normal activities—and even apply makeup—immediately following the treatment.
